Spring-Summer Season for Women’s Fashion Comes to Life in Brazil

Encontro da Moda, fashion trade fair in Brazil Importers from the United States, Mexico, Italy, Germany, Uruguay, Chile and United Arab Emirates will be some of the participants in the 35th Women's Fashion Meeting, a trade fair for the segment to be held from July 1st to 4 in the Frei Caneca Convention Center, in the southeastern Brazilian city of São Paulo.

According to information supplied by the press office at the fair, a total of 10,000 buyers, from Brazil and abroad, are expected at the meeting.

The event usually generates the equivalent to three months of production, according to the organizers. This year, the forecast is for revenues of 15 million reais (US$ 9.3 million) to be obtained during the four days of the event.

Sales should be 20% greater than last year. The event is characterized by the large number of deals closed. Visitors attend the meeting willing to place orders.

The exhibitors – there will be 120 in this edition – are going to come from eight different Brazilian states. Together, they answer to 60% of the supply for stores that sell women's fashion items in Brazil.

In this edition, exhibitors will include companies such as Bump, Crochetta, Madrepérola, Teia, Trintenio, Absinto, Alquimia, Bella Pelle, Desiree, Dorinha Guimarães, Engenharia da Roupa, Firenzo, Ozon, Menina Gerais Confecções, Week, and Zats.

The Women's Fashion Meeting is held twice a year and is organized by company SV Eventos. At the event, the spring-summer and autumn-winter collections are launched.

In this edition, the Brazilian industry is going to present its creations for the next spring-summer season. The meeting has been held since 1990. The exhibition takes place in two pavilions at the Convention Center, with a total area of 8,000 square meters (86,111 square feet).

The fair counts on support from the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae), the Brazilian Chamber of Store Managers (CDL) and organizations such as the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (Abit).

The event is turned to storeowners and professionals in the sector. To enter the premises, attendants must present their company's National Register of Corporate Taxpayers (CNPJ) number at the event's reception.
