Relations with Arabs Will Never Be the Same Again, Says Brazil’s Lula

The Presidents of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva; Peru, Alejandro Toledo; Algeria, Abdelaziz Bouteflika and the secretary general of the League of Arab States, Amr Mussa, guaranteed at the press conference that ended the Summit of South American – Arab Countries, in Brazilian capital BrasÀlia, that relations between both regions, created at the meeting, will continue.

“What we are creating is not a party or group policy, but a state policy. Relations between South America and the Arab countries will never be the same again,” stated president Lula.

Amr Mussa added that, in parallel to political dialogue, there are also being business meetings that will guarantee further cooperation. “This must be seen as a whole. Success leads to success,” stated the secretary general of the Arab League.

The president of Peru shares the same opinion and added that future mandate and government changes should not interrupt the relations built at the summit.
