Brazil's aircraft maker Embraer and Ireland-based Premier Aviation signed a contract for four Phenom 100 jets at EBACE 2007, in Geneva, Switzerland. Deliveries will begin in 2009. The value of the contract is US$ 11.4 million, based on January 2005 economic conditions. This order was already included in Embraer's backlog.
"We see this new contract with Premier Aviation as yet another confirmation that the cabin size will be a key differential for both Very Light and Light Jet markets," said Luis Carlos Affonso, Embraer Executive Vice President, Executive Jets. "We are excited about the good reception of the Phenom family in Europe and we wish Premier Aviation great success with the Phenom 100."
Premier Aviation's Phenom 100 will be configured with four seats and a fully-enclosed lavatory. The aircraft will be available for both fractional ownership and conventional charter operations.
"We considered several very light jets before making the decision to opt for the Phenom 100," said Alan Nee, Premier Aviation's Managing Director. "We placed the emphasis on cabin comfort and customer support and reached the conclusion that the Embraer product was the best in its class in both criteria."
Premier Aviation is located in Leixlip, County Kildare, Ireland, and was created in 1995. The company is specialized in management and sales of both helicopters and jets.
Premier Aviation also offers lease-back service to private owners. Premier Aviation's current fleet consists of a mix of helicopters and jets.
Training
CAE and Embraer announced the European training location for the Phenom 100 Very Light Jet and Phenom 300 Light Jet aircraft. The training programs will be offered at CAE's center in the U.K. located in Burgess Hill, near London's Gatwick airport, and will begin in early 2009 when the first Phenom 100 is delivered in Europe.

The state-of-the-art CAE Burgess Hill training center is CAE's European home for business aviation training. The center offers the highest standard of training and the latest training tools, including classrooms and briefing rooms equipped with CAE Simfinity, a suite of training devices which use the same high-fidelity simulation software found in CAE's full-flight simulators. The use of this innovative PC-based technology enables operational training in a virtual cockpit from the first day of training in the classroom.
In October 2006, Embraer and CAE announced an agreement to form a global training joint venture to provide entitlement training and post-entitlement training for pilots and ground crew personnel of the Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 aircraft. The initial training program will be offered at CAE SimuFlite in Dallas, Texas, at the same time as the Phenom 100 goes into service in 2008.
The Phenom 100 will carry up to eight people and is capable of flying at 41,000 feet. It is expected to enter service in mid-2008 and is priced at US$ 2.85 million in 2005 economic conditions. The Phenom 300 will accommodate up to nine people and is capable of flying at 45,000 feet. It is expected to enter service in mid-2009 and be priced at US$ 6.65 million in 2005 economic conditions.
