Czechs Get Brazil Embraer’s Legacy Jet Number 100

Brazil Embraer's Legacy executive jet Brazilian aircraft company Embraer announced yesterday, March 22, the delivery of the 100th unit of its Legacy executive jet airplane. The buyer is ABS Jets, a company based in the Czech Republic, which received the aircraft at the Embraer headquarters in the city of São José dos Campos, in the interior of the southeastern Brazilian state of São Paulo.

The jet was launched in 2000 and its first deliveries were made in 2002.

"From our headquarters in Prague, we will be able to fly to all European countries, without exception, and even to most Middle East countries, with no scales," said Marian Jancarik, managing director at the Czech company, according to a press release by Embraer.

According to the Brazilian company, units of the Legacy model have been sold to customers in 19 different countries. Last year, 27 jets were delivered. The forecast for 2007 and 2008 is of 25 to 30 orders fulfilled.

Still according to Embraer, the Legacy 600 has capacity for up to 16 passengers and a reach of 6,019 kilometers, allowing it to fly without scales from New York to London, from London to Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, or from Moscow to Addis Ababa, in Ethiopia.

The basic model sells for US$ 24.7 million. Also available is the Shuttle version, with capacity for 19 passengers, and the Shuttle HC, for up to 37 passengers, which cost US$ 18.6 million and US$ 19.35 million, respectively.
