Iran’s Ambassador in Brazil, Jafar Hashemi Seyed, says that his country had nothing to do with the start of the conflict between Israel and Hizbollah and that such an assumption is just one more way for the United States to blame Iran for the instability in the Middle East.
In an interview with Brazil’s official news agency, Agência Brasil, Seyed also said that the US promotes a nuclear apartheid when it allows countries like Israel to develop atomic technology, while it forbids others from doing the same.
The Iranian ambassador added that the United States should encourage democratic elections in Israel, including Muslim voters. Moreover, he stated that his country does not fund the Lebanese armed group Hizbollah .
Syria’s ambassador, Ali Diab, said that if Syria is attacked, Iran will enter the war, and vice-versa. Is it true?
We do not want go that far, because we want peace. If Syria is attacked, there will be a great diplomatic support from Iran, but we are not talking about military support. This support is not only from Iran. Many Muslim countries would certainly support Syria in case that country is attacked. If you study our contemporary history, you will see that we never attack other countries, what we always do is to defend ourselves. Our eight-year war against Iraq, was a defense war. We never used our military capacity against Iraq. More than 300,000 Iranis were killed.
But defense is the same argument Israel is using now.
But who started this war? The conflict imposed against us by Iraq was conducted by the United States to destroy the Islamic revolution. Saddam Hussein received all the information through American equipment. Countries like Germany and France gave Iraq chemical weapons. Even Russia offered to rent planes. And Iran was in a very closed environment, restrained, in a way it was not even able to buy wires.
Is Iran’s military power enough to face Israel?
We do not want this to occur, but I can say that any country that attacks Iran, that tries to invade it, will get a very strong response. The losses for that country will be quite big. You can see the Israeli flop face the resistance group in Lebanon. They are like paper tigers, empty inside.
Israel’s ambassadress said that the kidnapping of the two Israeli soldiers by Hizbollah occurred because Iran wanted it to happen in order to deflect the world’s attention from Iran’s nuclear arms.
This argument has no merit. The Iranian nuclear program adheres to the International Agency of Atomic Energy for three years. The world knows that Iran has the right to develop these technologies. But they created a double standard in order to prevent Iran from developing its program. All you have to do is to look at the meeting one month ago of the non-aligned countries: 102 countries emphasized Iran’s right to develop nuclear technology. Some countries like the United States of America and some European nations that do not agree that other countries have access to this technology are spreading propaganda against Iran.
What is the difference between Iran and a country like Israel, for example? Iran is a member country of the International Agency of Atomic Energy. All the actions, all the programs and all the activities are inspected by the International Agency of Atomic Energy. But a country like Israel has atomic weapons and is not a member of the IAEA and there is no review, no inspection in that country and nobody says anything, everybody keeps quiet. In the last two years they visited our facilities, even military facilities, what is not allowed by the agency. In all reports by the agency it is said that there is no irregularity or flaw in the Iranian nuclear program.
I can say that Iran is the only country in the world that says no to the US, and that for that reason they have created all this commotion against Iran. Anything happens in the world and people link it to Iran. To this day there is no evidence against the Iranian nuclear program. Iran denies 100% that it has any involvement with the soldiers’ kidnapping.
The big countries are creating a nuclear apartheid in the world, they do not want other countries to have this technology. They believe that anything in the world that doesn’t belong to the United States should not belong to a country, it should become international property. This occurs with the Amazon as well as with the oil in our territory.
Does Iran deny that it finances Hizbollah with weapons and money?
Hizbollah does not need financing. The group does its resistance against Israel without foreign support. The Israeli army is the fourth biggest in the world, but it cannot win against a resistance group like Hizbollah.
We always say that the Iranian support to resistance groups is not financial or with weapons. It is a spiritual support, because of the resistance and all the suffering of a people and injustice against a people. They don’t need our weapons.
Now I ask a question: As soon as an Islamic country lends its support to a group of Islamic resistance everybody criticizes our action. Now a country like Israel receives weapons of mass destruction from the USA, England and other countries and also receives financial aid from all the powerful countries of the world and nobody says a thing.
This territory where Israel lives today once belonged to the Palestinians. They entered this territory and forced the exit of more than 4 million people of the region. Why can’t the world accept that people person who were pulled out of their territory resist and demand their rights?
The motto of countries like the USA is the defense of democracy. Why don’t they allow a free election, in which Jews, Christians and Muslims may take part, where all of them can decide their own future. You don’t need to reject one group or another.
At Lebanese schools, in the maps, the part regarding Palestine, where today is internationally recognized as Israeli state, it’s written only Palestine. Children are taught that that territory is all Palestinian, as if the Israeli territory did not exist. Does the same occur in Iran?
We believe that this territory belongs to the Palestinians. We do not recognize the state of Israel. To compensate the Jews for the deaths during the Second World War, they decided that it was necessary to give them a territory and chose Palestine. If is this motive is just, why haven’t they given these Jews a piece of Germany?
They created a state where there are Islamic countries and the intention was to diversify the region. As you know, 60% of the world’s oil is concentrated on our region and the creation of a Jewish state in this region could be a way to try to control these resources.
They can sell many weapons to the countries due to all the acts of insecurity they create. I can say that creation of the state of Israel is a conspiracy against the states of the region, as well as other acts that are occurring now.
