Brazil’s Surplus Grows to US$ 16 Billion for the Year

Brazilian exports added up to US$ 1.108 billion in the first two working days of June, and imports reached US$ 587 million, which generated a surplus of US$ 521 million in the beginning of June.

With this, the surplus accumulated in 105 working days went to US$ 15.985 billion.

The general figures for the trade balance in the first two working days of June were released this morning, June 5, by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade and show that the year’s surplus is 1.86% less than the surplus recorded in the same period in 2005.

Total exports in the year reached US$ 50.574 billion, with an increase in 12.44% in relation to the sales last year, while imports added up to US$ 34.589 and increased at a stronger rate: by 20.56%.
