Chinese Ask for Less Red Tape in Their Dealings with Brazil

Brazilian Vice President, José Alencar, on the second day of his trip to China, this Monday, March 21, met with Brazilian and Chinese entrepreneurs.

He heard requests for expediting trading expansion between both countries, since Brazil is considered Chinese’s preferred destination. Entrepreneurs want to see bureaucratic practices eliminated from their commercial relations.

Alencar’s five-day official trip to China has the objective, among others, to install the High-Level Brazil-China Coordination and Cooperation Commission (Cosban), created during President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s visit to the country, in May 2004.

The government estimates that approximately 100,000 Chinese citizens will visit Brazil until 2007.

José Alencar also participated in the opening of the Banco do Brasil office in Shanghai, and met the local Brazilian community.
