All Systems Go for Brazilian Astronaut’s Experiments in Space

The eight experiments selected by the Brazilian Space Agency to be taken to space passed the last tests, in Russia. The result means the final approval of the experiments and their consequent inclusion in the Soyuz TMA-8 flight to the International Space Station.

Brazilian astronaut Marcos Pontes receives instructions on how to operate the experiments. Training went on Saturday and Sunday (March 11 and 12).

Two experts of the Brazilian delegation in Russia, one of the National Space Research Institute (INPE/MCT), and the other of the Air Force and Space Institute participated on the training.

On March 29th, at 11:30 pm (Brasília Time), Pontes leaves for the country’s first scientific space trip.
