Brazilian E-Trade Generates US$ 1.9 Billion in First Half

Electronic trade or online commercial transactions generated a turnover of US$ 1.9 billion in Brazil in the first semester of the year.

The information is from the research by the Brazilian Chamber of e-Commerce (Camara-e.net) and E-Consulting.


Throughout the year the volume should reach US$ 4.0 billion, with an increase of 30.66% in relation to the previous year.


The automobiles sector totaled, in the first semester in 2005, US$ 1.181 billion in on-line transactions. The carmakers and vehicles retailers were responsible for 62.45% of the total.


Tourism earned US$ 272.9 million and was responsible for 14.43% of the total. The information is from the Camara-e.net press advisory.
