Brazil Gets Own Branch of Altair Engineering

Michigan, US-based Altair Engineering, Inc., a global maker of advanced engineering software and grid computing technology, announced that it has established a regional office in the city of São Caetano do Sul, São Paulo, Brazil.

Altair Engineering do Brasil will provide sales and technical support for the company’s HyperWorks suite of advanced product design and engineering software tools to regional manufacturers and the engineering community.

Those customers include strategic international accounts such as Fiat, Ford, GM, John Deere, ArvinMeritor and Nokia.

Valdir Mendes Cardoso is the technical manager of Altair Engineering do Brasil, and will oversee operations at the new facility.

“Altair has built a strong reputation for providing our customers with the highest quality service in the industry,” said James R. Scapa, president and CEO of Altair Engineering.

“The São Paulo office will enhance the level of collaboration with our Brazilian customers that is so important to drive innovation in product design and engineering.”

The new facility is the twelfth Altair office worldwide and further demonstrates Altair’s energetic global growth strategy.

Having an office in Brazil also recognizes that country’s growing economy and its emergence as one of the world’s most vibrant design centers.

HyperWorks is a highly integrated framework of engineering tools that provides complete, open-architecture computer-aided engineering (CAE) and process automation support.

The toolset is a proven industry leader, and delivers the fastest and most versatile meshing and assembly technologies for finite-element and multi-body systems simulation.

Founded in 1985 and privately held with offices throughout 12 countries, Altair’s expertise in product development and manufacturing extend throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

As the developer of Altair HyperWorks – The Engineering Framework for Product Design, Altair is the leading provider of high-end, open CAE software solutions for modeling, visualization, optimization and process automation.

The company’s grid computing software, PBS Professional, is a workload management solution for HPC environments, Linux clusters and desktop cycle harvesting that delivers an ROI within one year.
