Brazilian Army Trains for Arab Summit

Soldiers of the Brazilian army carried out today a special training to ensure the security of the participants at the summit for South American and Arab countries.

The soldiers positioned themselves throughout the ministerial sector and the Presidential Palace, and the Avenida das Nações (Nations Avenue), where many embassies are located.


Each group, formed by at least three men, went to the front of the ministries, the National Congress, the Presidential Palace, the bus station, the Conventions Center and the North and South Hotels Sectors, as well as the roads and lawns.


The training details were not revealed, for safety reasons. The summit will take place at the Brasí­lia Conventions Center on the 9, 10 and 11 of May. Approximately 3,000 people are expected at the event.
