Brazil Shows the World the Latest in Medical and Dental Equipment

Ciosp, São Paulo, Brazil In order to bring Brazilian producers closer to importers, the Brazilian Association of the Industry of Medical, Dental, Hospital and Laboratory Articles and Equipment (Abimo) will be holding from February 1st to 3rd, the 6th Business Roundtables of the São Paulo International Dentistry Congress (Ciosp).

The meetings should bring together 35 Brazilian producers of dentistry products and 21 buyers from 12 countries. From the Middle East, buyers were selected from Egypt and Lebanon, which are Arab buyers, Pakistan, Turkey and Iran. From Asia, come the Philippines and India and from Latin America, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica and Paraguay.

According to the Abimo, the target is to generate a turnover of US$ 8.5 million in exports at the roundtables, against US$ 7.1 million in sales promoted in the last edition. In all, there should be 520 meetings.

“The Middle East and South America are coming with great strength, as they include countries which show great interest in Brazilian products. Apart from many not producing dentistry articles and equipment, the quality of the Brazilian products is high,” said the executive director at the Abimo, Hely Maestrello.

Apart from the business roundtables, in the sidelines, the 28th Ciosp trade exhibition should take place, at the Anhembi exhibition hall. At the event, 90 companies associated to the Abimo are going to show products, tendencies and technological innovation in equipment and furniture.

The Ciosp is considered the most important event in the dentistry sector in Latin America.

Last year, over 71,000 people participated in the event, among them panelists, dentists, surgeons, students and technicians. In total, 227 companies are exhibiting at the fair.
