Furniture Show Brings Europe and US to Brazil

The International Machinery, Raw Materials and Accessories Trade Show for the Furniture Industry – FIMMA Brasil 2005 – to be held March 15-19 in Bento Gonçalves, state of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil, will also promote business meetings and information sharing opportunities.

In addition to bringing together famous brands that supply raw materials to the furniture industry, Fimma Brasil 2005 seeks to make its mark within the wood and furniture production chain.

In order to achieve this, the international trade show has also organized three programs: The Buyer’s Program, Al-Invest, and The World of Wood.

The Buyer’s Program

With the support of the Brazilian Government/Apex and Sebrae, FIMMA Brasil is inviting 25 importers to participate in The Buyer’s Program.

The program serves as a direct point of contact for importers and exporters for the promotion of simultaneous negotiations among  foreign importers and exhibitors, guiding the introduction of companies into  the international market by means of potential clients, exploring for new business opportunities, and enhancing the foreign image of domestic products.

Importers from Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Canada, Guatemala, South Africa, Spain and France have already confirmed their attendance.

Al-Invest

Al-Invest is a business meeting among wood/forest development
companies from the European Union and Latin America. Countries participating in this program are Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Italy, Spain, Finland, Germany and France.

The idea is to bring together 30 European and 100 Latin American companies to offer participants the opportunity to discuss possibilities for technical and commercial cooperation, offering or demanding new technologies, products and services through several means of cooperation (joint ventures, technology transfer agreements, know-how, subcontracting, manufacturing licensing, and production, export, import and representation agreements, among others).

The purpose of this program is to develop relationships that will drive economic, commercial and financial cooperation among European and Latin American companies.

The World of Wood

Outside the trade show, together with a machinery exhibit for the wood/forestry industry, there will be a 200 square meter home built of rustic wood that will house the 14 companies representing the wood industry and related businesses.

Another 50 square meter space has been reserved outside for 12 exhibiting companies. The American Association of Hard Wood Producers, which has confirmed its participation here, will be in Bento Conçalves to promote U.S. wood among local furniture companies interested in capturing U.S. business by satisfying American consumer tastes and standards.
