In the Northeast, a meeting on the Toré and the struggle of indigenous peoples is being held in the state of Pernambuco and a Celebration of the 10 years of the death of Galdino Pataxó Hã Hã Hãe will be held in the Caramuru village, in the south tip of the state of Bahia.
Activities will also be carried out with students in Cuiabá, a regional camp in Imperatriz, Maranhão, a Pilgrimage, Indigenous Assemblies and Hearings in the states of Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo and Bahia, besides a mobilization in Ji Paraná, state of Rondônia, and in Campo Grande, state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
Various activities will end with the arrival of buses to the Free Land Camp in Brasília, the main topic of which is the indigenous policy and which will bring together over 800 people from April 16 to 19.

Pará – April 12-20 – Between the 5th and the 9th, a mobilization for the Free Land Camp in Brasília will be held in Altamira, state of Pará. April 12-19, the Week of Indigenous Peoples will be celebrated in Santarém with activities in schools and universities organized by Cimi (Indianist Missionary Council) and the Indigenous Council of Tapajós and Apurinã. April 16-20, State Camp of Via Campesina in the state of Pará: Against Imperialism and for the Sovereignty of the People in the Amazon Region, in Belém.
Pernambuco – April 10-13 – The Toré Land Mobilization in the land of the Pankará people will bring together 100 persons belonging to 30 indigenous peoples from the states of Pernambuco, Paraíba, Alagoas, Bahia, Rio Grande do Norte, Piauí and Sergipe to discuss land-related issues and indigenous rights in the northeast, hold rituals such as the Toré, and fight for land for indigenous people. The meeting will also be a preparation for the Free Land Camp in Brasília.
Porto Alegre, state of Rio Grande do Sul – April 11-13 – 2nd International Sepé Tiaraju Meeting, which will bring together members of the Guarani people living in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Espírito Santo and in Paraguay and representatives of rural movements, of the movement of recyclable supplies collectors, and of descendants of runaway slaves as well as representatives of the Youth Pastoral, among other people, in the Harmonia Park in the city of Porto Alegre.
Cuiabá, state of Mato Grosso – April 16-20 – Activities with students of schools of the city around topics such as the Rikbaktsa Economy before and after the arrival of rubber tappers and Jesuits; indigenous students and workers in the capital of Mato Grosso, indigenous people in urban areas, land issues affecting the Chiquitano.
On the 20th, a Celebration will be held for the 20 years of the Martyrdom of Brother Vicente Caí±as, SJ, at the São Judas Tadeu Church (Av. Colonel Escolástico) at 7:00 p.m., as well as a Blessing for the beginning of a Monument of artist Jonas Correia to pay tribute to Brother Vicente Caí±as, SJ, who was killed there 20 years ago in the state of Mato Grosso, with testimonies of people who knew him.
Brasília, Federal District – April 16-19 – The Free Land Camp will bring together 800 indigenous people from all over the country to discuss proposals of the movement for an indigenous policy. Health care, education and development projects are on the agenda. On April 19, a Public Hearing will be held at the Chamber of Representatives
Bahia – April 18-20 – Local political and cultural events at the Pascoal Mount of the Pataxó and at the Caieiras Velhas village of the Tupinikim people and at the Tupinambá of the Padeiro mountain range in Ilhéus. On the 21st, there will be a celebration for 10 years of the death of Galdino Pataxó Hã-Hã-Hãe in the Caramuru village, south region of the state of Bahia.
