Brazilian Hackers Raid Lula’s Party Site Again and Call Him Liar and Corrupt

Once again one of the sites of Brazil’s ruling Workers Party (PT) was invaded by hackers who disfigured the home page and left messages against President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his administration. This time it was the turn for the São Paulo state PT’s site to be raided.

The attackers wrote on the top of the page: "Workers Party – São Paulo (PT) You have been disfigured," and added below, as a title: "It’s always the same old story." The hacker(s) then criticized "the mensalão (big monthly allowance), the bloodsuckers and the corruption scandal".

One photoshopped picture of Lula added to the homepage showed the president sporting a couple of red horns and the caption: "Comrades, I didn’t know a thing about it." On the bottom of the page the invaders boasted of a job well done: "Attention: promise kept. We had promised new attacks. And here’s our evidence. We’re not politicians and much less criminals. That’s why we keep our words."

The PT released a note about the hackers attack:

"The State Directorate of the São Paulo PT protests the invasion of its site, conducted at dawn this Sunday (September 3). It’s just another antidemocratic manifestation in the Internet, which criminally abuses the freedom of expression limits and disseminates slanders in spaces that have always been open to criticisms and discussions.

"The terrorism via Internet, which has the PT as one of its preferred targets, has already included in these elections email defamatory campaigns as well as invasions to the sites of the National PT and of the Informes Agency, besides an invasion attempt against Paraná’s PT State Directorate.

"The São Paulo PT took the offenses off the air and restored the site content. We are waiting more details about the incident from provider Terra Empresas . The PT’s lawyers will take the appropriate measures before the Federal Police and the Judiciary."

On August 23, the site of the national PT was also hacked. At that time the PT’s symbol, the red star, was shown as being on fire. The hackers left a long note filled with grammar and spelling mistakes apparently to poke fun at Lula’s little formal education.

"Chega dessa porra!" (Enough of this shit), they wrote, adding that Lula was a curse that came accompanied by seven plagues:  the Congressional Inquiries on the Post Office, Bingos, Purchase of Votes, Bloodsuckers, Mensalão (big monthly allowance) and crises in agriculture and in metallurgical industries.
