A vote on the floor of Brazil’s Chamber of Deputies, on Wednesday, December 7, extended the time limit on the expulsion processes against 12 deputies for 90 days.
It was expected that the processes would end by mid-January. According to the president of the Ethics Council, where the processes are being dealt with, the extra time is necessary to complete the council’s work.
The deputies facing expulsion for infringing parliamentary rules of behavior are: João Magno (PT, Minas Gerais state), João Paulo Cunha (PT, São Paulo), José Janene (PP, Paraná), José Mentor (PT, São Paulo), Josias Gomes (PT, Bahia), Onyx Lorenzoni (PFL, Rio Grande do Sul), Pedro Corrêa (PP, Pernambuco), Pedro Henry (PP, Mato Grosso), Professor Luizinho (PT, São Paulo), Roberto Brant (PFL, Minas Gerais), Vadão Gomes (PP, São Paulo) and Wanderval Santos (PL, São Paulo).
