Brazil’s Lula Says Zero Hunger Will Be Big Success When Whole World Adopts It

In his weekly radio program, "Breakfast with the President," Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva presented, today, a roundup of the activities of the Family Grant program. He said that the goal is to reach 8.7 million families by the end of this year.

"We have already attained 100% of the municipalities in Brazil. In October we are benefiting eight million families, and we are committed to be serving 8.7 million families through this program by December 31," he said.

The president recalled that the Family Grant is part of the Zero Hunger program, to which US$ 11.9 billion (27 billion reais) have been allocated in the last two years. The program combines the activities of federal, state, and municipal governments and civil society.

"The Brazilian nation is aware that through the Family Grant we are enabling people who didn’t have access to anything to begin to have access to what is essential for the survival of Brazilian families," he affirmed.

Lula said that the program, in addition to permitting access to food, ensures school attendance by children and medical accompaniment of mothers and expectant mothers. And he emphasized the success of the program:

"It is certainly a successful program, and it will be even more successful when it is being practiced by other countries. And we can finally make sure that every human being is at least eating three meals a day," he said.

before it goes to the world……..
….please take care and make sure that it goes smoothly…in Brazil…..first !!!!!

In view of your distorted statements in many situations where high budgets were votred and approved……and thereafter being reduced….reduced and reduced…you have not yet demonstrated to the world…that what you do is what others should do.

I could specifically points to :
….your promise for 10 millions new jobs in your fist mandate. So far…..only 3 millions.
….your promise for the settlements of 400’000 MST. So far around 120’000 or less….but you keep promision that you will stick to your promises which means 280’000 settlements withon one year or so.
      Doubtful….. !!!!!
….your 167 millions Reais budget for sanitation, reduced to 90 millions…but so far only 30 millions freed !Then you wonder…why the FMD disease came back…after it was eradicated around 1 year ago. Not very smart…Mr President.
You also stated last week….that everything is in control. Dead wrong…..sorry again ! But today you accuse….the farmers !!!!! strange !!!!!

So between what you say and the reality…it is never the same !!!!!!
