Brazilian Named Top Consultant for Petrobras Work

BearingPoint, Inc., one of the world’s largest business consulting and systems integration firms, yesterday announced that Managing Director Angelo Mazzocchi of Brazil has been named to Consulting Magazine’s list of the Top 25 Most Influential Consultants of 2005.

The annual listing of influential consultants as judged by the magazine’s board of advisors, a group of top consulting industry leaders.

Each of the Top 25 Consultants were selected using an election ballot listing the accomplishments of 75 top consulting candidates.

“This year’s Top 25 ranking represents the breadth and depth of experiences consulting careers offer today,” says Jack Sweeney, editor-in- chief of Consulting Magazine. “

Consultants are today playing a significant role in the world’s economic expansion, and our Top 25 consultants underscore how critical the consulting profession is to this economic expansion.”

Mazzocchi was recognized in the issue’s “Client Service” category for his work last year with Petrobras, a leading global energy conglomerate, where he led a team in charge of developing one of the world’s largest integrated management system implementations.

Known as the “Sinergia Project,” the effort involved 800 people directly, 200 of them from BearingPoint, approximately 30 from SAP, in addition to a team from inside Petrobras. The new system represents, in five years, savings of US$ 450 million for Petrobras.

“I am honored to be included in this prestigious collection of fellow consultants worldwide,” said Mazzocchi.

“I would like to share this recognition with my coworkers at Petrobras, one of the truly great energy companies in the world, and with the great BearingPoint team that supported this unique accomplishment.”

The 25 consultants will be profiled in the May/June issue of Consulting Magazine.
