Catch Brazil’s WSF Forum on Satellite

Starting today, the 2005 World Social Forum will transmit (clean) international audio and video signals via satellite of the opening and closing ceremonies and the cultural shows.

There will be two simultaneous live transmissions. To synchronize the signals, one must have a parabolic antenna and an integrated receiver decoder (IRD).


Signal 1 will transmit three conferences daily between January 27 and 30 in the following time slots: 8:30 A.M.- 11:30 A.M, 12 P.M.- 3 P.M., and 3:30 P.M. – 6:30 P.M. (All Brasí­lia’s time.) Signal 2 will transmit three conferences daily (not the same ones as Signal 1) on the same days and time schedule.


Signal 2 will also transmit the opening ceremony today, beginning at 4 P.M., the shows that will be presented between January 27 and 30, starting at 7 P.M., in the Glênio Peres Plaza, in the center of the city, and the closing ceremony, on the morning of January 31.

Signal 2: Brasilsat B3 Satellite; Symbol rate: 4.6875; Reception frequency: 3,645 MHz; Lo Band: 15 05; Reception polarization: vertical; PID Video: 308; PID Audio: 256; PCR: 8190; FEC: 3/4.
