Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer delivered last year 148 aircrafts, out of which 134 were commercial jets, 13 executive planes and one for the defense sector.
In 2003, 101 units were delivered. The information was released yesterday, January 17, by the company. In the defense area, the company only discloses the deliveries of aircrafts for the transportation of officials, not of combat and surveillance planes.
Amongst the commercial jets, the company delivered one ERJ 135, for 37 passengers, 87 ERJ 145, with 50 seats, and 46 Embraer 170, which can carry up to 78 people.
In the executive aviation area, the company delivered 13 Legacy jets. For the defense sector, one EMB 145 was delivered, airship based on the ERJ 145.
During the 4th quarter of 2004, Embraer delivered 42 aeroplanes, where 34 were commercial jets and 8 were of the executive kind.
For this year, the company forecasts the delivery of 145 aircrafts, and the same number is estimated for 2006.
Previously, the company had made a forecast for the delivery of 170 aeroplanes in 2005, but the North American US Airways asked for a creditor’s agreement last year, which made Embraer review their estimates.
The orders made by US Airways added up to 85 units, where 22 had been delivered to the date of the creditor’s arrangement. As well as that, there was the cancellation of an order of 18 jets by American Eagle.
