TAM was the airline that led international trips, with 86% participation in the market. TAM and Gol are the main airlines in the aviation market in Brazil. They answer to 99.86% of the international flight market.
There was also growth in domestic departures in Brazil in April, according to the ANAC, but at a lower proportion. They expanded by 2%. The occupation of the flights, however, dropped. They fell from 66% to 63%.
The study takes into consideration the number of passengers by the number of kilometers flown. On national routes, TAM and Gol concentrate 87.97% of the market.
TAM also maintained leadership in market share on national routes. The company ended the month with 49.2% participation in domestic flights, against 42.12% in April 2008. Gol posted a 46.44% reduction, to 38.77% from April 2008 to April this year. Webjet has 3.7% of the national market and Azul 3.62%.
