China’s President Ends Five-day Visit to Brazil

On the fifth and last day of his official visit to Brazil, the president of China, Hu Jintao, will spend the day in São Paulo.

This morning he will visit the Space Research Institute (Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais) (Inpe) in São José dos Campos.


In the afternoon he will visit the Botanical Garden and the Memorial da Independência (today, November 15, is a holiday, Proclamation of the Republic Day in Brazil).


Finally, as he did in Brasí­lia and Rio de Janeiro, Hu Jintao will meet with representatives of the Chinese community in São Paulo.


Later in the evening he will meet the governor of São Paulo, Geraldo Alckmin, at a dinner. On the menu, talks about Chinese investments in the state, especially in infrastructure.


The Chinese government prepared a series of events to celebrate the presence of Hu Jintao in Brazil.


A Culture Week is underway with various expositions and presentations, along with the Exhibition of Chinese Products and Technology 2004 that opens today.


All of the fifty biggest corporations in China will have stands at the exhibition.


Hu Jintao will leave Brazil tomorrow, November 16, and travel to Buenos Aires.
