Emirates Airline Starts Flying to Brazil in Less than 3 Months

Emirates Airline Dubai-based United Arab Emirates's Emirates Airline is getting ready to start regular flights between Dubai and São Paulo, beginning on October 1st. Up to the end of August the company's definitive office will be inaugurated in the city of São Paulo, the largest business center in Brazil.

For the time being the company is operating at a temporary address and is going to promote events for travel agencies, said the Emirates director-general for Brazil, Ralf Aasmann. Emirates is temporarily installed at the World Trade Center (WTC), in the southern zone of São Paulo, but should soon move to a new address in the region.

The company already has eight employees in Brazil and is going to hire the ninth next week. When the flights start operating, the idea is to increase the total to between 25 and 30 employees at São Paulo International Airport, in Guarulhos, and at the company office.

To travel agencies, Emirates is going to promote events on August 14th and 15th, in São Paulo, and on the 21st and 22nd, in Rio de Janeiro.

"The idea is to promote a presentation to the agencies, to show that  Emirates is arriving and how the operations will be run," stated Aasmann. The passengers interested can already reserve their tickets for Emirates flights at travel agencies.

Still in the area of events, the company is also going to participate in the 35th Brazilian Travel Agency Association Exhibition (Abav), to take place between October 24th and 27th, in Rio.

Regarding the public relations and advertising work, Emirates has already hired two companies to operate in these sectors. Still this week, there should be a meeting to discuss the company's media plan in Brazil.

With regard to the flight itself, Ralf Aasmann believes that it will have a "very good" occupation right from the start. "Our sales team is complete, we are working on filling the flights," he said. On the route to Brazil, Emirates is going to operate with the Boeing 777-200 LR.
